Pen Parentis

M. M. De Voe founded, developed, and runs the federally-recognized, national literary nonprofit Pen Parentis. 

​

Headquartered in Lower Manhattan,Pen Parentis has never wavered from its mission to help writers stay on creative track after having kids.

​​

Celebrating more than 15 years as Director, DeVoe hosts:

  • monthly Literary Salons

  • weekly small-group meetups for accountability

  • pop-up literary events in Manhattan and across the country

  • a National Writer-Parent meetup in a different city each year,

  • and awards an annual Writing Fellowship for New Parents.

DeVoe's journey plus a helpful (and fun-to-read) guidebook is described in her memoir/guide BOOK & BABY, (2021). This book was  first prize winner at the NextGen Indie Book Awards).
