NMW has mailed out hardcopy of the lovely New Millenium Writings 2011 in which DeVoe’s prize winning story, Empty, appears. Empty tied for first prize in Summer 2009 for the NMW short-short fiction competition. The anthology is edited by Don Williams.

KGB REDUX-REDUX

Reading at KGB is great–an unearthly hush descends upon the second-story bar as soon as the mic goes live. Stalin glares down from the red velvet walls. A tardy beer is pulled and patrons glare in synchronicity at the offending noise. Occasional ambulance sirens break the tension–or add to it. Literature is taken very seriously here. You gotta love it.
